A small 90lb woman isnt going to much of annihilation confronting a adamant attacker unless she has lots and lots of defense training and experience. Its funny cuzz I but went to lancaster county courthouse to turn in my LTCF app to the sheriff and someone had a Kubaton while going thru the metal detector and the officer that was checking that person out asked the other officeholder if they needed to cheque Kubatons , the other officer replied " no they can take it , its non a lethal weapon" , so the officer said " even if it has pepper spray in it?" , to which the reply was too " No he does not need to bank check it , its not a lethal weapon" . They did non make them check information technology in and didnt say it was illegal either.

Thanks for all your input, I have tried the OC/pepper spray, but she didn't desire to deport information technology "because it was too beefy" for her to comport. She is but getting used to me carrying and not actually into carrying herself. So I am running out of options for her, simply she said she likes the kubaton, so thats what she has for at present. I plan to get her into some sort of cocky-defense class after the infant. I tried to reason with her well-nigh the pepper spray merely thats a no go. She doesn't desire to carry a firearm, because she is not comfortable with that yet. Eventually, I judge. Well thanks for your help guys. Y'all guys are great.

The PA "illegal Offensive Weapon" law is a little vague. It bans an expandable billy, even though these are carried by police officers. Still not as effective as a pistol.

If all she is willing to carry is the kubotan, it's better than nothing. Although it takes lots of training to 'maximize' the effectiveness of the kubotan, if information technology gives her confidence and something hard to jab an aggressor with, it will be a do good to her. The kubotan will work ameliorate than a key, and a key is better than an empty paw, trained or non.Continue trying to get her to bear the OC spray, that is past far the best selection for her. Ultimately information technology is her life, and at to the lowest degree yous fabricated the honest effort to assistance her empower herself, no matter what happens.

I did that a few years ago at PHL. I was picking upwardly a relative and had to get through screening. I put my keys (with kubotoan) and my wallet, coin clip etc in the basket and walked through. I was stopped for more screening. They guy at the xray machine held up my keys and said "What'southward this?" I told him it was my keys. He said "No, it's a MARTIAL ARTS WEAPON."
I was detained then an Airport Constabulary Officer could arrive.Officer arrived and was told by TSA about the kubotan. He asked why I was here and I explained why. Told him I employ the kubotan as a keyring and didn't know I could not get across security with it, and made no attempt to hibernate it.
He took my info, said I would not get it dorsum, simply I was not charged with anything or searched by the officer and allowed to go nearly my business concern. I know this could have gone alot worse, but the right, mutual-sense officer arrived. I was non going to pitch a fit over a inexpensive kubotan that I got for free in the first place.How-do-you-do-jack off: Simply be wary where you lot take it if you know you will have to pass through some sort of security bank check. I sincerely appreciate all your input. I keep trying to become her to carry the OC, but non working and so far. She says that since we are having a baby she doesn't want a pistol around her, just its OK for me to carry. The kubaton I got her has a bespeak at i stop, if you await at my original mail service it is the one on the left in the moving-picture show, she feels that even though she has no preparation with the weapon, that the pointed end will aid with maybe stopping an incident. Might give her a minute or two to seek help or get away. The indicate hurts if you put it into a rib or thigh. Like it said, its something rather than a bare hand. I program to get her some serious cocky defense training after the baby is born. Unless she decides to carry OC or even a small firearm. We'll see. Simply once again, thanks for all your help guys.

ASP has an OC that can be fastened to a keyring much similar a Kubotan. They have refillable canisters and, I recall, are aluminum and then they could mayhap serve double duty.
